CTX CounterTop XRF

Introducing the new CTX CounterTop XRF spectrometer. The portable Counter Top XRF (CTX) is small, light-weight, safety-interlocked, and battery operated. At less than 7 kilograms in weight, the self-contained CTX is truly portable, and has a small footprint of 14 cm in width.

The CTX uses a 4W X-ray source featuring Bruker’s patented SharpBeam™ optimized X-ray geometry, a high-performance silicon drift detector (SDD) with Bruker’s patented DetectorShield™, as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth® and USB connectivity. The CTX’s touchscreen user-interface provides measurement control and results display. Additionally, Bruker’s Toolbox PC software enables full remote operation of the CTX and optional PC software includes Bruker’s Artax™ for advanced qualitative, semi-quantitative composition analysis, as well as EasyCal™ for user-defined empirical correlations.

APPLICATIONS & MATERIALS

The CTX is available in several configurations optimized for different industries and applications, such as:

  • Minerals and mining
  • Food safety and agriculture
  • Pharmaceutical raw materials
  • Precious metals
  • Polymers
  • Marine fuel oil analysis (MARPOL)

The CTX is specifically designed for applications which require sample preparation and/or sample presentation in a cup or bag, as well as for small samples and samples which require measurement times of more than a few seconds.

CUSTOM CALIBRATION

Calibrations can be customised to get the most accurate and precise results from your instrument. Our applications centre is based in Perth, giving you the opportunity to get a fast turnaround for your customised calibration.

Custom calibrations can be created for anything that the portable XRF can analyse; this can include but is not restricted to soil, ore material, plastics, welds, plant materials, ceramics and even paints. Elements that are not routinely offered on factory calibrations can be catered for, such as thalium or galium.

ADVANCED ANALYTICAL SOFTWARE

EasyCAL – benchtop grade calibration software

  • Single or multi-element spectral analysis
  • Empiral matrix correction
  • User generated correlations
  • Transfer to TRACER 5i O/S
  • Report generator

ARTAX

  • Comprehensive interactive live analysis
  • Compare multiple spectra or values
  • Full spectrum or region of interest
  • Bayesian inference, deconvolution
  • Empirical, Compton, FP

CTX Models

The CTX 800 model is our highest specification model in the CTX Countertop series. We recommend this model for exploration and mining alloys or environmental analysis where you are looking for sensitivity to light elements. Specifically, this model excels at targeting the light elements for custom calibrations.

Features of the CTX 800:

  • a Large area CUBE™ SDD® detector
  • TITAN Detector Shield™
  • Collimator 5mm standard spot size, with 8 or 3mm optional
  • 5 position automatic filter changer
  • patented SharpBeam® beam path
  • elemental range Mg(12) – U(92)
  • Colour CMOS Camera as standard
  • Rh target X-ray tube, 4W excitation source, 6-50 kV, 5-200mA

The CTX 600 model is our second highest specification model in the CTX Countertop series. It is less sensitive than the 800 model, however it still is capable of detecting the same light elements. We recommend this model for mining applications, RoHs, environmental soils, or PMI needing light element capability.

Features of the CTX 600:

  • a Large area CUBE™ SDD® detector
  • TITAN Detector Shield™
  • 5mm standard spot size
  • 5 position automatic filter changer
  • patented SharpBeam® beam path
  • Elemental range Mg(12) – U(92)
  • Optional Colour CMOS Camera
  • Rh target X-ray tube, 4W excitation source, 15-50 kV, 5-100mA

The CTX™ 500s model is ready to go, factory calibrated to comply with MARPOL regulations for sulfur in fuel oil testing. They measure up to 1000 ppm (0.1%) sulfur with an error less than ±100 ppm sulfur in 60 or 30 seconds with an LOD of 30ppm (3σ) and an LOQ of 100ppm (10σ).

Features of the CTX 500:

  • An SDD detector
  • TITAN Detector Shield™
  • 5mm standard spot size
  • Patented SharpBeam® beam path
  • Rh target X-ray tube, 4W excitation source, fixed current 40kV

The CTX 500 model is recommended for PMI applications where light element (LE) capability is not required.

Features of the CTX 500:

  • An SDD detector
  • TITAN Detector Shield™
  • 5mm standard spot size
  • Otimised Fixed filter
  • Patented SharpBeam® beam path
  • Elemental range of Ti – U
  • Rh target X-ray tube, 4W excitation source, fixed current 40kV

The CTX 300 model is our most economical pXRF on offer. It is a popular choice for applications such as precious metals, PMI, and lead paint. It is used for primarily for the detection of heavy elements.

  • Rh target X-ray tube, 4W excitation source, fixed current 40kV
  • SiPIN diode detector
  • TITAN Detector Shield®,
  • Fixed filter
  • Elemental range Ti – U
